Recurring Orders
Feature flag: Recurring orders must be enabled for your organization. Ask your admin if you don’t see this menu item.
Recurring Orders are templates that automatically generate real orders on a schedule — for example, a weekly delivery to the same customer every Tuesday morning. Set the template up once and Zendera creates the orders for you going forward.
This saves the manual data entry of identical orders day after day. Generated orders behave exactly like manually-created ones — they appear in Order Control and are picked up by the optimizer.
How to open Recurring Orders
Open Administration → Recurring Orders in the left sidebar.
How to create a recurring order template
- Open Administration → Recurring Orders.
- Click New recurring order.
- Set the Schedule:
- Days of the week (e.g. Mon, Wed, Fri).
- Time (when the order should be generated).
- Look-ahead window — how many days in advance to create the next instance.
- Fill in the order template — customer, pickup, delivery, products, etc. — exactly like a normal order. (See Creating orders for the field-by-field walkthrough.)
- Set a start date and optional end date.
- Save.
Future orders generate automatically. They show up in Order Control on the day they’re created.
Schedule patterns
Common patterns:
- Daily — every day, optional skip on weekends.
- Weekly on specific days — e.g. Mon/Wed/Fri.
- Monthly on a specific date — e.g. the 1st and the 15th.
- Custom — a flexible repeat pattern (CRON syntax) for irregular schedules. If you don’t know CRON, pick one of the patterns above or ask Zendera support.
How edits to the template behave
Editing the template only affects orders generated after the change. Orders that have already been generated are independent — to change them, edit each one in Order Control.
Tip: If you make a big change (e.g. switching customer or location), it’s usually safer to stop the existing template and create a new one for the new arrangement.
How to pause or stop a recurring order
- Open the recurring order template.
- Click Pause to temporarily stop generating new orders, or Stop to end the schedule entirely.
- Save.
A paused template can be resumed later. A stopped template can be reactivated by editing the end date.
How to find which orders came from a recurring template
Open the recurring order template — the Generated orders tab lists every instance it’s created, with status. Click any to jump to it in Order Control.
You can also filter Order Control by source = “Recurring” to see only auto-generated orders.
