Settings — Routing

Permission: Admin only.

Settings → Routing is where you control how the optimizer behaves. These are the top-level settings that shape every plan it produces. Most are simple Yes / No toggles.

For an overview of all Settings tabs, see Settings.

Routing settings

SettingWhat it does
Auto balancingWhen on, the system tries to balance orders equally across all drivers. When off, the system tries to use as few vehicles as possible.
Allow late stopsA stop is late when its latest time has been passed. When off, the optimizer will not serve stops that would arrive late — they must instead be manually dispatched or moved to another day. When on, the optimizer still tries to minimize late stops, but is allowed to serve them if needed. With “allow late stops” turned off, this becomes a hard rule.
Allow soft ending on driver work hoursWhen on, the driver-overtime setting is treated as a soft ending instead of a hard rule, so the optimizer may extend slightly past the work-shift end if it produces a better plan.
Group stops closer than (distance)Controls how the map view and the optimizer group nearby stops together. Stops within this distance are clustered. Tune this to match how tightly your locations sit.
Plan aheadThe planning horizon — how far into the future the optimizer should plan.

Changes here affect every future plan the optimizer produces. If you tweak Routing settings, watch the next day’s plan to confirm the effect matches what you expected.
