Settings — Pricing
Permission: Admin only.
Pricing in Zendera is rule-based: you build price lists out of price items and apply rules to handle exceptions (surcharges, discounts, customer-specific overrides).
Rule order matters — first match wins. Drag price rules into the order you want them evaluated; the first rule that matches wins. This is the single most common source of “pricing not behaving as expected”.
For an overview of all Settings tabs, see Settings.
Pricing concepts
| Concept | What it is |
|---|---|
| Price list | A named collection of price items, with a date range it’s valid for. Each customer has a default price list. |
| Price item | One billable line on a list (e.g. “Standard delivery — 250 NOK per stop”). |
| Price rule | A conditional rule that adjusts pricing (e.g. “Add 10% surcharge for deliveries to zone Outer islands”). Rules are evaluated in order, first match wins. |
| Freight pricing | Special pricing for consolidated shipments (multiple orders combined into one freight). |
| Product pricing | Per-product price overrides. |
Currency. Pricing is in your organization’s single currency. Price lists cannot mix currencies.
How to create a price list
- Settings → Pricing → Price lists.
- Click New price list, fill in name and effective dates.
- Save.
- Open the list and click Add item for each line: name, unit cost, optional quantity bounds.
How to clone a price list
For seasonal pricing or year-over-year updates:
- Find the source list.
- ⋮ menu → Duplicate.
- Edit name and effective dates.
- Adjust prices and save.
How to create a price rule
- Settings → Pricing → Rules (or open the price list and find the Rules tab).
- Add rule:
- Filter — when does this rule apply? Pick by customer, location, zone, order type, vehicle type.
- Rule type — fixed amount, percentage, or tiered.
- Amount / percent.
- Position — where in the list this rule lives. Order matters — first match wins.
- Save.
How to assign a price list to a customer
Open the customer → Pricing tab → pick the default price list → save.
You can also override at the location level — see Locations.
Common pricing gotchas
- Rule order matters. First match wins. Drag rules to reorder.
- Clone before bulk price changes. Don’t edit a live price list mid-month — clone, change, set the effective date, and let the new one take over cleanly.
- Freight vs. order pricing. When consolidation is in play, freight rules can override per-order rules.
- Currency is fixed per org. You cannot have NOK customers and EUR customers in the same Zendera organization.
